Endorsement of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and the Crow Creek Sioux Tribe and Their Tribally-Owned Telephone Companies and Condemnation of Certain Long Distance Carriers Refusing To Accept Their Obligations on Tribal Lands To support the request that the SD Governor issue an Executive Order that establishes the right of Tribes to enjoy the benefits Charter School Legislation as provided for under No Child Left Behind, Section 5201, where States with “Special Populations” or Communities with “Special Learning Needs” have the ability to address their unique learning needs. A RESOLUTION OF THE GREAT PLAINS TRIBAL CHAIRMAN’S ASSOCIATION OFFICIALLY SUPPOTING THE LEGAL EFFORT BY SEVERAL OF THE TRIBES AND TRIBAL SCHOOLS IN NORTH AND SOUTH DAKOTA TO ENFORCE THE SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT AND STIPULATED FINAL JUDGMENT REACHED IN CIV NO. 06-4091 KES, AND TO FILE ANY AND ALL AMICUS CURAE BRIEFS, IF NECESSARY, TO SUPPORT THE SAID ENFORCEMENT ACTION AND ASSOCIATED LAWSUITS IN THE ABOVE-REFERENCED MATTER AGAINST THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF INTERIOR, THE BUREAU OF INDIAN EDUCATION AND ANY OTHER FEDERAL ENTITY A RESOLUTION OF THE GREAT PLAINS TRIBAL CHAIRMAN’S ASSOCIATION OFFICIALLY SUPPOTING THAT THE BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFAIRS FY 2016 BUDGET REQUEST SHOULD CONTAIN AN INDIAN EDUCATION BUDGET REQUEST THAT IS CONSISTENT WITH THE INDIAN EDUCATION BLUEPRINT A RESOLUTION OF THE GREAT PLAINS TRIBAL CHAIRMAN’S ASSOCIATION OFFICIALLY SUPPOTING THE OCETI SAKOWIN EDUCATION COMMISSION CALL UPON THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR INDIAN AFFAIRS TO DIRECT THE DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR MANAGEMENT TO RESTORE THE $3,123,000 FOR FORWARD FUNDED EDUCATION PROGRAMS AND TO FULLY FUND TEACHER PAY COSTS IN FY 2014 AT THE NEEDED LEVEL OF $2,954,000 A RESOLUTION OF THE GREAT PLAINS TRIBAL CHAIRMAN’S ASSOCIATION OFFICIALLY SUPPOTING THE OCETI SAKOWIN EDUCATION COMMISSION CALL UPON THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY FOR INDIAN AFFAIRS AND THE BIE DIRECTOR TO ESTABLISH A PROCESS FOR TRIBAL AND SCHOOL PARTICIPATION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE BIE STRATEGIC PLAN A RESOLUTION OF THE GREAT PLAINS TRIBAL CHAIRMAN’S ASSOCIATION OFFICIALLY SUPPOTING THE OCET SAKOWIN EDUCATION COMMISSION CALLS UPON THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON INDIAN AFFAIRS, THE HOUSE SUBCOMMITTEE ON INTERIOR APPROPRIATIONS, AND THE SENATE SUBCOMMITTEE ON INTERIOR APPROPRIATIONS TO POSE QUESTIONS FOR HEARING RECORD TO ADMINISTRATION WITNESSES REGARDING THE FY 2016 BUDGET REQUEST FOR THE BUREAU OF INDIAN EDUCATION A RESOLUTION OF THE GREAT PLAINS TRIBAL CHAIRMAN’S ASSOCIATION OFFICIALLY OPPOSING THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT’S INTENT TO REMOVE THE YELLOWSTONE GRIZZLY BEAR FROM ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT PROTECTIONS.
